JFF President and CEO Maria Flynn recently published an essay in Forbes in which she outlined three steps employers can take to successfully adopt fair chance hiring policies that create opportunities for people who have been incarcerated and help ensure that such programs gain traction throughout the labor market.

“Fair-chance hires can be a major asset to companies: 85% of human resources leaders say that workers who have been incarcerated perform as well or better than other employees, according to a 2021 study by the Society for Human Resource Management,” she wrote.
