Generation USA CEO Sean Segal in “Verizon and Generation Partner to Close the Opportunity Gap and Reskill Workers”
JFF will be a key player, along with Verizon and nonprofit training provider Generation, in an initiative to make technical and professional training programs more accessible to workers from vulnerable populations, including Black and Latinx individuals, women, and those who do not have a four-year degree.
Verizon is investing $44 million in the effort to significantly increase access to a free, technology-focused career training programs offered by Generation. JFF will help with program impact and evaluation.
“We are not only providing individuals with the skills to be prepared for jobs in the digital world, but we are also equipping them with mentorship and social support services this population needs, while amassing a network of companies to help place graduates,” Generation USA CEO Sean Segal said in a Verizon press release announcing the initiative.
