In an opinion column published on Medium.com, JFF addresses the need for more diversity in the IT workforce.

Penned by organizational development consultant Aundrea Gregg, the column notes that big tech employers have made little progress in improving the diversity of their technical staffs in the past five years.

“To keep growing,” Gregg writes, “the IT sector must embrace workforce solutions that reach more people and mobilize more diverse populations of jobseekers.”

One way to do that, she says, is to build an emphasis on racial equity into IT training programs, including pre-apprenticeship programs. She then outlines four ways training providers can increase the diversity of the cohorts of learners who participate in their programs.
