JFF’s Deborah Kobes in “The Apprentice Opportunity: Using an Old Model to Recruit Fresh Talent”
Jobs for the Future Senior Director Deborah Kobes was quoted in a recent Viewpoints article about apprenticeship on enterprise software company SAP’s SAP Insights page.
The article discussed how apprenticeship can be an effective talent development model for technology companies and other employers that have primarily only recruited people with college degrees in the past.
Noting that employers who are new to work-based learning might want to partner with and organization like JFF for advice about setting up and running an apprenticeship program, Kobes, who is the deputy director for JFF’s Center for Apprenticeship & Work-Based Learning, said, “We often hear from companies who say, ‘We’re in investment banking; we’re not an education organization,’ and that’s often why they choose to partner with us.”
