JFF Senior Director Lucretia Murphy was profiled in the fall 2020 issue of Michigan Education, the magazine of the University of Michigan School of Education (SOE), where she earned a PhD in higher education policy.
The profile notes that Murphy has always felt a calling to serve her community, and points out that that is exactly what she does at JFF, where she works with individuals, employers, and local leaders to develop strategies that increase economic opportunity for individuals and economic prosperity for communities.
Murphy tells Michigan Education that “The SOE provided an interdisciplinary structure for research and analysis, and my work today also benefits from being comfortable working across disciplines, systems, and structures.”
That foundation serves her well in her role at JFF, where, she explains, “I work to bring together all of the people with the right knowledge, the ones with the power, and the ones with the ability to execute change.”
