Select Experts Jonathan Payne Director

Jonathan Payne is a director in Solutions Design & Delivery at JFF. He leads coaching and technical assistance in program design and implementation with stakeholders at the national, regional, state, and local level. 

His skills and areas of expertise include: 

  • Youth apprenticeship and work-based learning 
  • Educator apprenticeship 
  • Strategic planning and execution 
  • Collaborative stakeholder engagement 
  • Cross-functional leadership 

Before joining JFF, Payne served as a public educator for over a decade. Most recently, he was a technology integrator, where he helped integrate technology into daily classroom instruction and student assessments, facilitated the creation of the district’s K-6 technology scope and sequence, and coordinated technology professional development programs for district staff. Payne also served as a high school chemistry teacher and was a co-developer of the district’s engineering curriculum.

  • Master’s degree in education, University of Southern Maine 
  • Doctoral degree in public policy, University of Southern Maine
